No other items are planned for the special session. “The right to cast your vote without fear or intimidation is a fundamental tenant of our democracy,” said Governor Jan Brewer. “I believe that Arizona voters should be provided the opportunity to support and protect a constitutional right to a secret ballot for Arizona employees.” The special session is expected to last 1-3 days.
Message from Congressman John Shadegg: The arrogance in Washington is at an all time high. Despite repeated protests from the American people, Washington charges forward on the quest to take this country as far to the left as possible. On Tuesday voters in Missouri sent an undeniable message from the ballot box to President Obama and the Democrat majority responsible for the government takeover of healthcare. An overwhelming 71% of the electorate rejected Obamacare by voting in support of a state measure to bar the government from requiring citizens to purchase health insurance and bar it from fining those who don’t.
Americans have been protesting the continued out of control spending, mandating, taxing and regulating in Washington for more than a year and yet, Washington remains tone deaf and unresponsive. People are rejecting the nanny state this government is forcing upon them. Tuesday's vote in Missouri is just the latest in a series of demonstrations that citizens want the ever-expanding government to halt and need government to get out of the way of growing this economy and creating jobs.
Every candidate should be asked if they support and will take action to repeal Obamacare. Republicans currently holding office should begin the process immediately. If Republicans won't act now, they don't deserve to take back the majority.
Arizonans have a great opportunity to send a message by voting for the Health Care Freedom Act on their November ballots. The Arizona Health Care Freedom Act will amend the Arizona Constitution to protect your right to choose not to participate in any health care system, of any type, and to protect your right to spend your own money to seek out and receive health care services that are otherwise legal.
